Netvouz wants some del.icio.us RawSugar

I read on TechCrunch that RawSugar is having difficulties and may shut down or sell. So after a conversation with the RawSugar team I decided to offer RawSugar members an alternative.

So now Netvouz imports bookmarks directly from a RawSugar account. Just enter your RawSugar username and password and we will retrieve your RawSugar bookmarks and import them to your Netvouz account. The import is done in real-time and your bookmarks will retain the same visibility settings as they have on RawSugar.

But we will not just import your bookmarks into a flat hierarchy as on del.icio.us and most other services. No, we will actually convert your RawSugar tag hierarchy into Netvouz folders and put the bookmarks in the most relevant folder! So this will mimic your whole RawSugar account in the Netvouz way. If you do want a flat structure you can of course choose not to create Netvouz folders. But I understand many RawSugar users are concerned about moving to other services and losing the power of folders.

Take a look at http://www.netvouz.com/RawSugarDemo for an example. This import was done from a RawSugar account and as you can see Netvouz has recreated the whole tag hierarchy as a folder structure. Isn't that beautiful!

So from Netvouz to all RawSugar users - Welcome to Netvouz!

Oh, I almost forgot. We can now also import straight from del.icio.us as well. Works the same way except your bookmarks are imported into a flat structure.

Sweet!

I just discovered Netvouz and moved all my bookmarks from RawSugar and the import worked perfectly. Great to see the folder structure recreated.

But i didn't see any message about my broken bookmarks (I know i have some). When will I see that?

Looking forward to see if netvous will fit my needs.

Very welcome Maik!

I'm happy to see the import worked for you.

The link checker scans your links once a week and if a link has been broken for two weeks it is marked as broken (or doubtful or unreachable, depending on the response we get, or don't get, from the site).

And if you have just signed up you are placed among the first in the scan queue so your first scan should run today or tomorrow, if it hasn't already been run. So sometime next week you should see a message about your broken links when you log on.

Feel free to contact me offline if you have any questions.

Hello Buck,

That's the kind of positive review I don't like ;-)

Like all social bookmarking sites we are constantly working to minimize spam bookmarks, and unfortunately that wastes a lot of our time. But we have some ideas that we will implement in the near future.

Thanks for the pointer!

I just signed up for Netvous. I did not want to use Raw Sugar due to their open end policy on sexual content. I do not wish to get any more sexual content emails then the spam I am getting and deleting. You do not have my email for publication so I hope that will prevent sexual content RawSugar members from sending stuff.

I thank you for the chance to connect with all the bookmarks I have done at work and at home.

Can I post the bookmarks at home onto this site also?

Hello Patricia,

Netvouz has a privacy policy which means we do not publish your email, or your private bookmarks. So rest assured you won't get any spam from us.

If you want to post from multiple computers, just add the Add2Netvouz button to each and every one of them. Log on to your bookmarks page and go to Tools -> Browser buttons and follow the instructions.

Good luck with Netvouz!
